Queplix Universal Search Appliance (QUSA) works with Google Search Appliance (GSA) and enables GSA to present both Structured (files) and Unstructured (applications) Enterprise Content from a simple user interface.
QUSA extracts user roles and permissions dynamically from the applications and allows users to see only the information they are allowed to see as defined by the Enterprise. QUSA relies on Google Search algorithm, while making it possible to safely and effectively leverage it in the enterprise.
During the automated crawling process QUSA extracts business entities, accounts and roles from individual applications or, if available, LDAP. QUSA will then "globalize" or merge business entities, users and permissions in order to prepare a complete and secure index for the Google search.
Unlike any other enterprise search solution, QUSA will dynamically enable ranking of the information using proven Google PageRank algorithm, while applying enterprise related criteria to the search weighting, i.e.: RDBMS objects referential integrity, transactional history and other factors unique to your enterprise and business operations. Combined with the Google's PageRank technology, Queplix Universal Search will allow you instant access to any permitted data element or navigate to any part of the allowed workflows within your company.
QUSA is a plug and play appliance, which ships bundled with Google Search Appliance. There is no customization required in order to enable Universal search across your applications, such as Siebel, SAP, Oracle and SalesForce.com, in-house created applications as well as over 200 document formats. Major benefit of QUSA is that you don't have to create and configure a GSA connector for every application you need to search, just point QUSA crawler to application's database. QUSA eliminates the need to integrate corporate applications, since it will allow Google search to display federated and merged results from all crawled applications. From the search results page you can navigate directly to the application containing the record (QUSA will even login into the source application using your account) or initiate actions applicable to your role and displayed based on your usage patterns of the target application.
