Default new installation directions

Hello and Good Day-
I have seen the system requirements PDF, it looks like in addition to a Web server, I will need an application server and a database server. I don't have an application server for my platform ( Red Hat Linux AS 5 ), is there a free one I can use?( Jboss eval only lasts 30 days, not enough time ) Also, is there a free database that can be used that runs on Linux?( some posts indicate problems with MySQL ) How difficult is it to run all three on one server, if it can be done at all? I am using this basically in a test environment, so speed and bandwidth aren't a problem now. The system requirements suggest a raid array, which I don't have either, I hope that's not a problem. I also would ask if there's an installation procedure available. Has anyone successfully deployed the "open source" version? Also, can you import a flat file to your database and map fields in queplix to your database tables?

Best Regards,
Marc

Hello Marc,

I believe you can download JBoss 4.0.4 server for your operating system that will not have 30 days trial from here http://www.jboss.org/jbossas/downloads/
As for database system you can use MySQL for free. We support Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL. So since MySQL is free it can be a good option for evaluation and for small teams.
And there should be no problem running all three on the same server.

No need to run on RAID for testing.

And in order to map fields in other tables to QueWeb screens you will need to learn how to build Open Source version from the source, because certain changes to the metadata describing the application will be needed.
